Welcome to Love A Stray

Love A Stray is a personal website for stories of strays that I have saved and helped throughout the years. I have loved cats since a young age. Through the years I have helped the strays in my neighborhood and have adopted several. Recently I have been working with different rescue groups with volunteering and fostering.

Domestic Cats

Many people assume their cats will survive when they move away and leave them behind, unfortunately that is not the case.

Domestic cats do not automatically know how to surive. They are starved, abused, attacked by other animals and humans.

While a lot of pepole think cats "natural" instincts are to return to the wild many of the cats left behind end up dead or suffer a slow painful death.

Unaltered Cats

A pair of unaltered cats where the female can have two or more litters per year, can exponentially produce 420,000 offspring over a seven-year period. The best thing you can do for your cat is spay or neuter them.

An unspayed female cat can go into heat at 4 months of age. If left unspayed, she will end up having 2 to 3 litters per year. About 70% of her kittens will end up in shelters and be euthanized. With the economy and limited financial resources, the cats are not getting adopted.
